America's bagel obsession is apparent when you see the sheer density of high street shops devoted to these doughy rings of joy… e.g. the Finagle a Bagel chain. Apparently to "finagle" means to wangle or sneak. If your bagel experience is limited to with or without poppy seeds, you'll be blown away by the sheer variety on offer. Overloading them with sandwich fillings seems crazy to me, a plain bagel with crème cheese and a coffee is my fave, but I'm clearly in the minority. Oh, and they're equally happy here to stuff a croissant with sandwich fillings!
