JFK Museum

It was Martin Luther King Day this Monday just gone, a public holiday here. In an attempt to bring some meaning to a wintery three-day weekend I visited Boston’s JFK museum. It’s based in an impressive building, overlooking Boston harbour, with an exhibition chronicling the ex-presidents life and short time in office. It includes speeches (many of which I found strangely compelling – certainly more so than the current bunch of Muppets), brings the campaign trail to life including debates with Nixon, and highlights Peace Corps, Civil Rights, Cuban missile crisis, and space program moments. All in all a very engaging and interesting exhibition.

Off to visit Jim and Tessa in Montreal this weekend :)

I went there on my first visit to Boston and also found it a pretty fascinating place. That building in itself is worth going to look at but the museum is like nothing I have been to before. I found myself being very moved by the speeches too. For anyone that has not been, you should go!!!
