Red Sox beat the Yankees

Last night a huge shadow that’s been over Boston’s baseball team the RedSox was lifted. They beat the New York Yankees to win the American League Series. At the time of my last post they were 0-3 one loss from elimination. Over four tension packed nights they staged an unprecedented comeback to win 4-3.

The buzz in the city, present since the start of the series, erupted into all out celebration. The scenes were reminiscent of Manchester in 1999 after United won the treble. Car horns rang out, people poured onto the streets and euphoria swept the city. People hugged strangers, as the city filled with rejoicing fans. Amazingly this was just the semi-final! The final series starts on Saturday; if they win it people here say Boston will burn to the ground. Sounds like fun to me!
