Friendly Fire: Ryan

Occupation
My company makes machines that love other machines. But it's tough love. Which is to say that I don't really know what they do. What I do know is that they let me take a fair amount of walks, taxi rides, and naps -- so it hardly seems to matter.

Bush or Kerry?
Scared.

Religious outlook
Lazy, bitter, and contrarian.

Last great story I read or saw
Saw Spellbound last night. A documentary about the national spelling bee that just about got me crying. [note: I have tried to rent this one with Rob at least twice now, and he refuses to see it. If anyone out there has seen it, tell him it's good, alright?]

Last great music I heard
In 'Yo Face: The Roots of Funk, vol. 1/2. Just found it after losing it a few years ago. Jammin' to songs like "Mary Don't Take Me on No Bad Trip", "Everything I Do Gohn Be Funky (From Now On)", and the "Tighten Up".

Five things I can't live without
Eggs (cooked); good music; stupid music; the Fung Wah Bus (New York to Boston, $15); and this certain nagging feeling -- it's like a parfait of false nostalgia and indistinct regret...

Booze of choice
The Fantastic Four is: carrot juice, club soda, vodka, and lime. Add two blueberries to make it a Blue-Eyed Thing. Guinness is a good backup.

Food of delight
Cigarettes.

Where did you meet me?
If I remember correctly, my kitchen. Which I can now, with a note of bliss in my voice, describe as OUR kitchen.

Best lie I've told
I don't know. I don't even bother with them anymore.

The best thing about Boston
Hot nuts.
